Workshop: Living Composition: The Garden as Artistic Expression
The garden has been the muse of countless artists throughout history, from the Garden of Eden to Monet’s home gardens. While natural spaces are wild and beholden to the laws of nature, gardens are constructed by humans who wish to embody particular aesthetics. Join us against the inspirational backdrop of Lockhouse Gallery for this workshop presented by Miranda Yourick, owner of Earthly Delights Native Gardening LLC. Miranda will introduce you to some guiding principles for designing a garden as an artistic composition that reflects your personal style while also supporting the wildlife in your backyard.
The workshop will include an informative presentation about garden design and winter seed sowing, plus the opportunity to prepare and bring home native plant seeds sowed and ready for spring! All materials will be provided.
$20 per person
We are currently at capacity, but go to the link below to sign up for the waitlist!
Workshop: Winter Sowing at The Last Word
Spring gardening will be here soon and now is the best time to prepare! Most Maryland native plants need cold temperatures for their seeds to germinate in Spring. Winter sowing is a simple, effective, and (frankly) addictive method to start native plants outside! Come learn about this fascinating process and participate in sowing seeds to bring home with you on Sunday, January 11th from 12pm to 2pm! Earthly Delights Native Gardening will be running this hands-on workshop and providing all the supplies! If you have native plant seeds you want bring, please do! See you soon to play in the dirt!
Artisan Booth at the Holiday Magic Farm Fundraiser
Come support Miranda at her first-ever market to promote Earthly Delights Native Gardening and sell her art! The offerings will be based on wherever her whims have taken her - linocut prints, block printed bandanas, garden sculptures, embroidery, and pieces made of foraged materials. Your entry into the event supports the animals and education at Dragonfly Acres Farm!
