The Nursery

Our ethos

We just love growing native plants. When you take home a plant from our nursery, you know that every step of the process - sourcing seeds, waiting months for stratification, watching for tiny green leaves to appear in the spring, transplanting, and SO MUCH watering - was done by someone who truly cares about the plants and their potential to do good in the world. We can’t wait to show you what we can do!

Delightfully yours,

Miranda, Jeff, & Deb

~The Plants~

Plants are in small plugs, deep plugs, and/or quart pots.

~The Process~

It all starts with responsible seed collecting - from our gardens, natural areas, or reputable online sources.

Most native seeds need to go through a transformation called stratification - which happens naturally over the winter, but at a nursery happens in bags of vermiculite in the refrigerator!

Our seeds are all started in our beautiful custom greenhouse.

Seedlings are carefully transplanted by expertly-trained employees (aka us) honed by many hours of volunteering at the USGS Bee Lab & trial-and-error.

Seedlings make their way to our outdoor growing space, the Pen, (a converted chicken yard) to get ready to go into your garden!
